CNG is available, abundant, and can be produced domestically

The data shows that the US is increasing its production of natural gas while prices are dropping. New sources of natural gas are being discovered regularly, constantly increasing what we know to be our supply.

US reserves of CNG

New technology in the industry has helped to locate vast quantities of previously unknown sources of natural gas throughout the United States. Even as we increase our use of natural gas year over year, our new found supplies are increasing faster than we are using it.

US CNG production grows

The US has large reserves of natural gas, and production has been steadily expanding throughout our history, and especially in the last 5 years when several new domestic sources of CNG have been found.

CNG Prices drop

Even while the cost of gasoline continues to increase, the cost of natural gas has actually decreased over the past decade!

Notice also how volatile the price of gasoline is. In 2008 it peaked due primarily to speculation in the oil trading stock market. Natural gas, on the other hand, has been priced steadily over the past 8 years, and has actually decreased in net cost (not even taking inflation into account!)
